MAMTRUST Eye Care Hospital, formerly known as SIMS Comtrust Eye Care Hospital was established in February 2008 by Comtrust Eye Care Society, Kozhikode, under the guidance of Sri. K K S Nambiar, the founder president of the society and with the blessings of Param poojaniya Swami Sachidananda of Anandashram. The Eye Hospital is now run by Meenakshi Amma Memorial Charitable Medical Trust a Registered Charitable Medical Trust formed in the year 2015 vide Registration No. 157/2015of SRO Hosdurg. The Trust is also registered U/s. 12AA(1)(b)(i) of the Income Tax Act. The aim of the Trust is to provide quality medical aid ,especially in the field of Ophthalmology to the common man at an affordable cost and to offer comprehensive eye care including surgeries free of cost to the poor. This Hospital is functioning in the 2nd floor of the Sanjeevani Hospital Complex, Mavungal, Anandashram, Kanhangad. The Trust is governed by Sri. M.K.Nambiar, the Managing Trustee, Dr.M.R.Nambiar, the Co-Managing Trustee and the Trustees Dr. K.Vinodkumar, Dr. K.Jayaprasad and Dr.A.V. Sukumaran.The hospital is mainly catering to the needs of the common people in the northern parts of Kerala and has grown up to be a premier eye care centre in Kannur and Kasargode Districts. The hospital is equipped with full-fledged operation theatres with state-of-the-art technology and has been providing top quality eye care facilities in the region of North Kerala. The Charitable activities of the hospital and its community outreach programs are well coordinated.

In a very exciting and eventful span MAMTRUST Eye Care Hospital has grown massively to its present exalted status of a pool of renowned doctors. Our highly skilled and motivated team of ophthalmologists and surgeons ably assisted by a highly dedicated staff work tirelessly to achieve our goals of providing superior eye care facilities to all. During a short span of time we have done more than 25000 thousand surgeries out of which nearly 5000 free surgeries. Hospital works on a not for profit motive and provides the best in quality eye care in a highly professional and technology led environment. The Management and administration strives relentlessly to ensure that the most technologically advanced equipment and procedures are made available to all, irrespective of the category of the patients. The dominant cause of blindness is cataract as it accounts for nearly two third of the blind population. Our aim is to enhance community awareness on eye care and lay stress on preventive measures and thereby reduce the prevalence of blindness. We also aim to create a cataract free district by giving quality cataract treatment including surgeries by the end of 2021.
